Grand Joanne
In 2023, Midstar AB embarked on a complete upgrade of Grand Joanne in Copenhagen, creating a hotel where music, design, food, drinks and culture come together as one experience.
Effektgruppen was involved in the design, sales and installation of several of the hotel’s technical systems. The work focused on solutions that support the property’s atmosphere and its day-to-day operation.
The project included lighting and sound systems designed to blend naturally into the architecture and interior while remaining reliable, flexible and easy to use. Distributed video formed part of the wider AV installation. The technology enhances the guest experience without dominating the space.
A central part of the audio solution uses Genelec Smart IP technology. Each networked loudspeaker can be managed individually, while a Dante network distributes high-quality audio efficiently through the hotel’s public spaces.
